It argued that Google\u2019s advertising technologies and other techniques continued to catalog details of users\u2019 site visits and activities despite their use of supposedly \u201cprivate\u201d browsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plaintiffs also charged that Google\u2019s activities yielded an \u201cunaccountable trove of information\u201d about users who thought they\u2019d taken steps to protect their privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The settlement, reached Thursday, must still be approved by a federal judge.
